Our AML and Verification Policy
Blockdag Casino operates under Curaçao licence OGL/2015/4519/613, held by BlockDAG Entertainment N.V. since 2017. This page sets out, in plain terms, how we meet our anti-money-laundering (AML) obligations and when we will ask you to verify your identity.
Our AML Commitment
We hold licence OGL/2015/4519/613, issued by the Curaçao licensing authority, and we run our platform in line with the anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism-financing rules of that jurisdiction. In practice this means we must know who our players are, where their funds come from, and we must report suspicious activity to the relevant authority.
Our obligations are not optional for us, and they are not optional for you. By holding an account with us you agree to provide truthful information and to cooperate with our verification requests. We apply these rules to every player equally, whether you deposit 30 AUD by PayID or play at high stakes in crypto.
- Customer due diligence at the points required by our licence
- Ongoing monitoring of all deposits, wagers and withdrawals
- Screening of players and transactions against sanctions lists
- Internal reporting of suspicious activity to the Curaçao authority
- Staff training and independent audits of our AML programme
When We Verify Your Identity
Verification triggers
We use tiered verification, so most players can register, deposit and play without delay. We will ask you to confirm your email and mobile number at sign-up, and we will require full identity verification before your first withdrawal and whenever you claim a large win. We may also verify you earlier if your account activity reaches certain thresholds or raises a question under our AML programme.
When we verify, we need documents that show three things: who you are, where you live, and that you own the payment method you used.
- Photo ID: passport, national ID card or driver's licence, valid and unexpired
- Proof of address: utility bill, bank statement or government letter dated within the last 3 months
- Payment method ownership: photo of the bank card (masking the middle digits and CVV) or a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet showing your name
- Source of funds evidence, only when we request it (see below)
| Trigger | What we require |
|---|---|
| Registration | Email and mobile confirmation |
| First withdrawal | Full identity and address verification |
| Large win or payout | Full verification plus source of funds if applicable |
| Threshold or alert | Verification or document refresh as determined by our compliance team |
How Verification Works
Our verification is a documented, step-by-step process so you always know where your request stands. You upload documents through the secure verification area of your account, never by email or live chat, and our compliance officers review them in the order they arrive.
Most checks are completed within 24 to 48 hours. If a document is unclear or a detail does not match your account profile, we will tell you exactly what to fix and nothing more. All documents are stored encrypted, with access limited to our compliance team, and we never share them with third parties except where our licence or applicable law requires it.
- 1. Log in and open the verification section of your account
- 2. Upload the documents listed in your request
- 3. Our compliance team reviews them, usually within 24 to 48 hours
- 4. You receive written confirmation, or a specific request for corrected documents
- 5. Approved documents are archived encrypted and flagged as verified
When We Ask About Funds
Source of funds is a separate question from source of wealth. It asks not whether you can afford to play, but where the specific money you deposited came from. We request this evidence when your deposits or payouts reach a level set in our AML programme, when large wins trigger a payout above the ordinary run of play, or when the pattern of your transactions suggests we should confirm the origin of the funds.
Acceptable evidence includes payslips, employment contracts, bank statements showing regular income, business accounts, a signed contract for a property sale, or records of an inheritance. You send it once; we do not ask again unless your circumstances or your activity materially change. Everything you provide is reviewed only by our compliance team and kept confidential.
How We Monitor Transactions
Every deposit and withdrawal on our platform passes through automated and manual checks. We compare the amount, the method, the frequency and the timing of your transactions against your verified profile and your play history. Nothing personal; this is how we detect third-party abuse of accounts, fraud and money laundering.
We apply a same-method rule for withdrawals. You withdraw to the same Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, Jeton, bank account or crypto wallet you deposited from. Crypto payouts to third-party wallets are refused. Our limits are 30 AUD minimum for both deposits and withdrawals, up to 25,000 AUD per day and 500,000 AUD per month, with crypto payouts processed in roughly 13 minutes and fiat payouts within 1 to 3 business days. We charge no fees, although blockchain network charges may apply.
If a transaction looks inconsistent with your verified profile, we may pause it and ask you to confirm a detail. We would rather delay one withdrawal than let an account be misused.
| Check | What we look at |
|---|---|
| Deposits | Method, amount, funding source, consistency with profile |
| Withdrawals | Same-method rule, verified identity, account standing |
| Patterns | Frequency, sizing, sudden changes in behaviour |
| Screening | Sanctions lists and Politically Exposed Person status |
If Verification Fails
We act on the outcome, not on assumptions. If your documents are rejected, we tell you the reason in writing and give you a reasonable window to provide corrected evidence, because we know a blurry photo or an expired bill can happen to anyone.
If you do not respond to a verification request, or if we cannot establish your identity, the source of your funds or your ownership of a payment method, we must restrict your account. Withdrawals are suspended, and we cannot process payouts to unverified accounts. Persistent failure, forged documents or clear evidence of third-party use lead to account closure and, where our licence obligations require it, a report to the Curaçao authority.
Your deposited funds are not forfeited for a failed check. Once you complete verification, or once we settle the account within the rules of our licence, your balance is returned to you by the original payment method.
- Withdrawals suspended until the request is satisfied
- Repeated non-compliance leads to account closure
- Suspected fraud or forgery is reported to the licensing authority
- Verified balances are always returned to the legitimate owner
How We Store Documents
Our licence requires us to keep verification records for a set period after your account closes, and we apply a retention schedule of at least five years in line with Curaçao AML requirements. During that time the records support audits by the licensing authority and any lawful investigation.
We store your documents encrypted, with strict access controls limited to our compliance staff. When the retention period ends, records are securely destroyed. You may request a copy of your verification data at any time by contacting [email protected], and we will action your request under our privacy commitments.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to verify before I can play?
No. Registration only requires email and mobile confirmation. We verify your identity before your first withdrawal, on large wins, or when thresholds in our AML programme are reached.
How long does verification take at Blockdag Casino?
Most document reviews finish within 24 to 48 hours. If we need something corrected, we contact you with a specific request rather than leaving you waiting.
Can I withdraw to a different card or wallet than I deposited with?
No. Our same-method rule requires withdrawals to the Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, Jeton, bank account or crypto wallet you funded your account from. Third-party wallets are refused.
Why do you ask for source of funds?
Our Curaçao licence obliges us to confirm where deposited money comes from when deposits or payouts reach a threshold or activity raises a question under our AML programme. A payslip, bank statement or similar document is usually enough.
Do you keep my documents forever?
No. We retain verification records for at least five years after account closure, as our licence requires, then destroy them securely. While held, they are encrypted and accessible only to our compliance team.
